BrainHealth and Fitness: The Effects of Aerobic Exercise on Cognition

According to the Census Bureau, more than 67 million Americans are age 55 or older.  One of the biggest risks they face is decline in brain function.  Interventions that promote independence, postpone hospitalization, and reduce the need for care will not only improve quality of life for seniors but will also save massive amounts in health care costs.

The Ringle Exercise and BrainHealth Study, a collaboration between the UT Dallas Center for BrainHealth, The Cooper Institute, and UT Southwestern Medical Center, will examine the effects of aerobic exercise on the brain.

Would you like to take part? Are you 60 to 70 years old in overall good health? Are you currently not physically active? Are you able to participate in study assessments over a 20-week period? If you answered yes to all of these questions, you may be eligible for the Ringle Exercise and BrainHealth Study evaluating the effects of aerobic activity on thinking ability. If you qualify, all study-related assessments and tests will be provided to you at absolutely no cost.
