Project Supervisors/Research Coordinators

Gerard- Nisal Bischof
Research Coordinator
Dipl. Psychologist

Research interests: Cognitive Neuroscience of Aging, Structural and Functional MRI Methods, Neuroplasticity, Multisensory Perception, Event-Related-Potentials.

Gerard Bischof got his Diploma in Psychology from the University of Hamburg, Germany. During his study he focused on Cognitive Neuroscience of Aging and ERP-Research. He also majored in Clinical Psychology and Industrial and Organizational Psychology. His thesis investigated temporo-spatial perception in older adults using behavioural parameter and event-related potentials. As a research coordinator he is particularly interested in developing research projects and learning and understanding imaging methods e.g., MRI, fMRI.

Tina Jeon, M.S., B.A.
Research Assistant

Research Interests: Neurodegenerative diseases, Neuroimaging

Tina is working with Dr. King using fractals as a way to quantify shape characteristics of demented and aging populations. She has been perfecting the use of a semi-automated segmentation and parcellation program called FreeSurfer, developed at the Martinos Center to analyze both volumetric and shape complexities of the brain. Using this software suite and Dr. King's custom fractal analysis program, the lab hopes devise a neural biomarker for disease.
