Sarah Monning recently discovered an old time capsule full of letters that she had written to herself beginning at age 12. One of the letters, dated June 1992, opened with the following statement: “I have just finished the 9th grade. My most difficult but favorite class this year was honors biology, where I became extremely fascinated with the human brain.
