Dr. Ling is a world-renowned neurologist and visionary who holds appointments at Johns Hopkins and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He is also the Acting Vice Chair for Research at Inova, a not-for-profit healthcare system based in Northern Virginia. In 2014, he championed the development of responsive, brain-controlled artificial limbs as director of the DARPA Biological Technologies Office at the Department of Defense.

Dr. Ling is board certified in both Neurology and Neuro Critical Care and retired from the U.S. Army at the rank of Colonel in 2012. He was considered the Army’s premier subject-matter expert on traumatic brain injury and has more than 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, reviews and book chapters to his credit.
