Center for BrainHealth Honors Linda and Joel Robuck With 2020 Legacy Award

The Center for BrainHealth®, part of The University of Texas at Dallas, commended Linda and Joel Robuck at the Legacy Award Dinner, held at the Dallas Country Club, for their pivotal work throughout the years to better brain health. Annually, the award recognizes individuals who have been instrumental in advancing the vision of the Center for BrainHealth to explore the vast potential of the human brain. The Robucks have contributed countless hours, tirelessly advocating for the center’s research and programming. Joel has served as vice-chairman of the center’s Advisory Board for the past four years – a remarkable period of the organization’s growth that saw the creation of the Brain Performance Institute, the translational arm of the Center for BrainHealth. Both Linda and Joel are among the greatest champions of the center’s Adolescent Reasoning Initiative™, which to date has trained more than 500 middle and high school teachers to provide cognitive training to more than 82,000 students that help them improve how they think and learn through integrated reasoning, problem solving and innovation. “Linda and Joel are unparalleled supporters, mentors and energizers to the center for BrainHealth Teams,” said founder and chief director, Dr. Sandra Bond Chapman. “Their visionary leadership and focused dedication have been instrumental in delivering our brain health breakthroughs to underserved communities, and for this we honor them with our most prestigious award.” Joel Robuck remarked, “Linda and I are humbled and grateful to receive BrainHealth’s Legacy Award. It has been our pleasure to be involved with the meaningful work of the Center for BrainHealth, particularly in support of its work with active duty and veteran military service members and at-risk youth in South Oak Cliff. We see tremendous value in the research and programs delivered by BrainHealth, both across the country and right here in our community.”
About the 2020 BrainHealth Legacy Award Dinner
Mary McDermott Cook and Georgeann and Admiral (Ret.) William McRaven served as honorary chairs for the 2020 event. Anne Monning and Sarah Monning Schoellkopf were the dinner chairs.
