As head of pediatric virtual training with the Center for BrainHealth’s social cognition programs, Maria focuses on developing protocol, educating teachers and trainers, and implementing Social SMART Virtual Reality Social Cognitive Training programs in local district schools and here at the Center. Utilizing remote technology and neuroimaging resources, she is dedicated to exploring the next level of neuroscience research and intervention in order to improve interpersonal relationships, emotional expression, and perspective taking across multiple populations exhibiting social cognitive challenges.

A seasoned Speech-Language Pathologist, Maria brings her expertise and passion all the way from Los Angeles, California, where she was the director/founder of Sunshine Speech Services, an educationally based clinical practice, specializing in social learning with the adolescent and young adult population for the past 13 years.
