What is The BrainHealth Project?

The Project is a landmark scientific study that will:

  • DEFINE brain health based on a modern, holistic understanding of the upward potential of the human mind.
  • MEASURE brain health with the novel, multi-faceted BrainHealth Index™ that tracks progress toward personalized brain fitness goals.
  • ENHANCE/MAINTAIN/REGAIN brain health through proven trainings, self-paced activities and live coaching.

The Youth Project follows the same approach, with age-appropriate versions or modifications where needed.

Explain the BrainHealth Index™

It is a multi-faceted, science-backed composite of your brain’s performance across pivotal domains (cognition, daily life, well-being, and social interactions) intended to be taken at regular intervals to measure performance and track change over time.

How can a brain get stronger and more efficient?

Three decades of research, development of training protocols and clinical trials have tested how healthy people can develop habits to improve their brain’s performance and resilience across the lifespan.

I’m doing fine. Will I benefit if I join the Project?

Yes, absolutely! The BrainHealth Project helps healthy people of all ages and circumstances take charge of their brainpower.

When you join the Project, you will learn the strategies and techniques that have been scientifically demonstrated to be effective. With support from trained coaches, you can turn these insights into new, brain-healthy habits that you can apply for the rest of your life.

I already do brain games and puzzles; how is this different?

Brain games and puzzles can be fun, but few are grounded in rigorous science.

The engaging, game-like activities of The BrainHealth Project were created by a unique collaboration between scientists, clinicians, behavioral experts and gaming developers. They help you practice new brain-healthy habits that can have lifelong benefits for your brain’s ability to reason, problem-solve, innovate and adapt.

I’m too busy for this.

The good news is that you don’t have to make more time in your day; adopting brain-healthy habits is about changing how you go about your day, being intentional about how you apply your mental effort.

The extent to which you practice these brain-healthy techniques is entirely up to you!
