Experts from the Center for BrainHealth and the Brain Performance Institute, in partnership with Cooper Aerobics and The Cooper Institute, will offer talks and demos on October 11.
The Center for BrainHealth® will mark the first anniversary of its Brain Performance Institute™ on Thursday, October 11, 2018, with a free open house. The Institute, which champions enhancing the brain’s reserve and resilience across the lifespan, will partner with Cooper Aerobics and The Cooper Institute to share insights on how to optimize one’s health.
The celebration will begin at 11:45 a.m. with a ticketed lunch talk, “Leading from the Frontal Lobe.” Starting at 1:00 p.m. and throughout the afternoon, visitors can attend brain-centric classes, lectures and activities that provide tips and insights for enhancing brain performance. Activities will include yoga, massage therapy, a social cognition game-based simulation, the Brain Performance Challenge and brain-healthy nutrition demonstrations. There will also be talks about the effects of injury on the developing brains of kids, as well as insights for Alzheimer’s caregivers. The day will end with the popular Sips & Science ticketed evening event at 6:30 p.m. – a conversation with Dr. Sandra B. Chapman, chief director of the Center for BrainHealth, and Dr. Laura DeFina, CEO and chief science officer of The Cooper Institute, moderated by award-winning broadcast journalist Shelly Slater.
